Although
Bridget Larrabee is not an artist herself, she has great respect for
those who can make a living out of what they are passionate about.
Now with her art consulting business, Art Scout, she is doing just
that.
Bridget has been described as the matchmaker for the arts, she prides
herself on finding the perfect artist to fit her clients needs. Armed
with a wide and varied portfolio she will be available for on site
consultation, where she will be able to take into consideration the
space, lighting, and style of the surroundings. This will allow her
to better help you find a piece you can feel passionate about.
Bridget was an art consultant at a gallery in Park City Utah for two
years where her favorite part of her job was doing in home consulting
for her clients. "I have always been thrilled by the opportunity
to fill a blank wall with the perfect piece of art."
As a docent at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts she realized how some
people can be distracted by the formalities in a museum or gallery
and how that can hinder their ability to express their natural reaction
to something. Bridget's tour was always centered around communication
and first response. "People can be so easily influenced by
other's perception of things. Appreciating art should be a personal,
almost instinctual reaction." This way of thinking earned
her an invitation to give a lecture series at the Park City Public
Library, where she gave talks that used pop culture to interest people
to take a closer look at the art around them. |
